Romalina Rocca

Romalina Rocca, B.Ed (Secondary TAS), M.Ed (Management and Human Resource Development), teaches at a Sydney school where she is the Director of Student Wellbeing and the previous Head of TAS. She is an experienced teacher of Stage 6 Design and Technology and also teaches Higher School Certificate level. She also teaches the mandatory Stage 4 Technology, Stage 5 Design and Technology and Information and Software Technology, and Stages 5 and 6 Food Technology. Romalina is currently teaching STEM and has had extensive experience in both written and itinerant marking.

Matthew Scott

Matthew Scott is Head Teacher Technology at a rural high school in New South Wales. He has been teaching Stage 6 Design and Technology for several years. His interests include educational technologies such as 3D printing, laser cutting, coding, and micro development computers such as Arduino. His philosophy for technology education includes integrating advanced manufacturing into class programs to enhance student engagement and to promote STEM.

Sally Filtness

Sally Filtness has a senior pastoral care position and has taught Design and Technology at a Sydney school since 2000. She has several years’ experience teaching Design and Technology from Stage 4 to Higher School Certificate level and specialises in multimedia, animation and print media. She has been extensively involved in HSC written, itinerant and judge marking for Design and Technology with NESA and finds this busy time in Terms 3 and 4 very rewarding. She has just finished a PhD on online teaching and learning technologies in the Design and Technology classroom.

Jennifer Holt

Jennifer Holt is a highly experienced, passionate Design and Technology educator who has worked in boys’, girls’ and coeducational secondary independent schools and is currently the TAS Coordinator at her school. Jennifer is known for her enthusiastic commitment to, and leadership in, both student and staff learning and development. She was the AIS Conference Convenor for TAS from 2013 to 2016 and is an experienced HSC senior marker of Design and Technology for practical examinations.
