We have a range of free webinars occurring over Term 3, focusing on Mathematics, Health and Human Development and Humanities subjects.
Mathematics Years 7–10
Author and presenter David Greenwood is running three webinars for our new Essential Mathematics CORE series.
During this webinar, we will take a look at some of the ways schools can pair the new Essential Mathematics CORE series with the popular standard Essential Mathematics in either a streamed or mixed ability setting to create a wide variety of differentiated learning pathways.
We will also explore:
- the new features of the CORE series and how the series compares to Essential Mathematics
- new tools for independent learning and diagnostic assessment
- new curriculum mapping and literacy resources
- the latest digital interface and tools for teaching and assessment.
When registering, you will be given the opportunity to ask questions in advance that you'd like our presenter to address. There will also be a live Q&A session during the webinar.
Webinar attendees will receive a complimentary Essential Mathematics CORE for the Australian Curriculum textbook of their choice*. For those who are unable to attend, the webinar will be recorded and distributed after the event.
David Greenwood is the Head of Mathematics at Trinity Grammar School in Melbourne and has 25+ years’ experience teaching mathematics from Years 7 to 12. He has run numerous workshops within Australia and overseas regarding the implementation of the Australian Curriculum and the use of technology for the teaching of mathematics. He has written more than 30 mathematics titles and has a particular interest in the sequencing of curriculum content and working with the Australian Curriculum proficiency strands.

Health and Human Development VCE Units 1–4
Webinar presenters Sonia Goodacre, Chrissy Collins, Alison Howard, Janine Konoroth, Emily Mathews and Kate Sims will focus on:
- reviewing the 2019 exam and the common mistakes made by students
- analysing strategies for success in the 2020 exam
- reviewing sample extended-response and examination preparation questions with model answers from Units 3 and 4
- exploring important updates and new features of the upcoming new edition of Cambridge VCE Health and Human Development.

Humanities Years 7–10
Our expert presenters will take a look at some of the ways teachers can deliver rich learning experiences in the face of a constantly changing world and will address the various requirements of delivering the curriculum in a mixed ability classroom.
In this webinar, we will cover:
- techniques for teaching students to work with and use visual sources in the History classroom
- innovative ways to develop historical and geographical skills and concepts across years 7 to 10
- how Visible Thinking Routines and interactive resources can help to engage your class across all Humanities subject areas.
